From the Boarding Captains

With Term Three well under way and everyone ready for another holiday break, we reach the end of the winter sport seasons. In the coming weeks, most of the boarding students are either playing their last home and away games or some are lucky enough to have already secured a spot in the grand final.
The Year Ten cohort has recently had Work Experience and a lot of great feedback has come back from it with everyone having lots of different but overall enjoyable experiences. This will hopefully help them with making the decision about what they wish to do in the future. The Year Elevens have been doing some thinking and it is good to see how many boarders are applying for leadership positions in 2025.
The Year Twelves' school journey is near an end. Although it seems like it has taken a long time to get to the end of school it has suddenly come upon us extremely quickly, with most of us finishing up at the end of the term. Lots of the students are both nervous and excited to finish school and see what lies ahead.
Recently there have been some colds going around the school. Although missing a couple of days of school sounds fun, getting a cold is not. Make sure to keep up with handwashing and personal hygiene to prevent getting sick.
I wish everyone the best for their sporting finals and an enjoyable rest of term.

It has been a very busy term so far. Everyone has been putting so much effort into the many commitments we all have, including school camps, Work Experience, sport, music and so much more. All the houses have been buzzing with activity these past few weeks.
The Year Ten group went on Work Experience last week and many stories about their time have been shared among the houses. Stories of police stations, childcare, mechanics and schools have all been told. Work Experience is such a great time to have a go at new things to test the waters to find out what you want to do in the future. I’m so glad that they all had a great week in all the various workplaces they visited.
Among our boarders we have some very talented musicians. On Friday of Week Six, six of the Breaksea girls participated in Radioactive. This concert consisted of musicians from Great Southern Grammar, Albany Senior High School and WAAPA, (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts). The show turned out amazing and everyone played so well. A big thank you to all the boarders who came and watched to support us it was great to see your familiar faces in the crowd.
I wish good luck to all those who are in the finals in their winter sports. It's been a very long season and I hope all your commitment and dedication will pay off though the friendships you made and the fun you had during it. I hope everyone has a wonderful next few weeks and is excited for the warm weather to come.
