BOOK PARADE & AREPAS

We had a beautiful morning last Friday, parading around as our favourite book characters. Our parents, carers, staff and students all did a wonderful job. Thank you to Ms Abbott, Ms Davis and Ms Kelly for your organisation and support of this. Congratulations to the winners of the competitions who were presented at the assembly. 

And what a treat it was to get to taste Columbian Arepas at the end of a fun day! A huge thankyou to Joize, Mia, Miranda and Micaela for sharing this cultural experience with us. Senor Toni, you always keep our kids at the heart. Thank you for making the event happen. 

DISCO BINGO

A great time was had at Disco Bingo at West Beach Pavilion. A huge thank you to everyone who worked tirelessly to organise, run and support this fundraiser, including Kate, Arlene , Vicky, Laura, Jo, James, Steve and our super-star project manager, Sarah-Jane. 

There are still a couple of payments to be finalised but we are thrilled to announce the fundraising figure of $14,000 for this event. This takes our current fundraising amount to approximately $35,000!!! This week, our staff and the SRC have been brainstorming ways to utilise these funds. The SRC will soon be reaching out to students through Student Voices to ensure everyone can share their ideas. Afterwards, we will also seek input from our parent/carer community to gather your opinions. Thank you, all, for your amazing fundraising efforts to date!

EVERY DAY COUNTS

As you know, regular school attendance is crucial for your child's education, except in cases of illness or approved exemptions. Our teachers put in tremendous effort to create engaging programs for each student and work additional hours to support this. If you decide to take your child on a family holiday outside of school breaks, please note that we will no longer provide absence learning plans as a standard practice. Creating these plans significantly adds to our teachers' workloads, and it is essential for them to focus on collaborative and differentiated planning.

In exceptional cases, absence learning plans may still be provided. If you anticipate a long-term absence, please email me directly at the school address to inform me. We strongly recommend scheduling vacations during school holidays, whenever possible.

FATHERS AND VIP DAY

After an incredibly windy night, we were fortunate to enjoy a calm and sunny morning to celebrate our Dads and VIPs this morning. The turnout was fantastic, and the sense of community was heartwarming. A big thank you to Amanda, Seon, and Aili for organising such a wonderful event. We also appreciate all of our other volunteers and local businesses for their support.
