Principals Message

J'espère que le message de cette semaine vous trouvera bien.
As we continue through the school year, I want to highlight the importance of home reading. Reading is essential for learning and growth, and it plays a key role in reinforcing what students learn in the classroom.
Engaging with books at home helps our children develop a love for reading, making it an enjoyable activity rather than just a school task. Regular reading boosts vocabulary, comprehension, and overall literacy skills, complementing their school learning and building their confidence. Reading together also strengthens the bond between parents and children and provides a chance for meaningful conversations about stories and characters and keeps parents involved in their child's education.
Moreover, books introduce new ideas and perspectives, fostering creativity and critical thinking and as children become more confident readers, they start exploring topics of personal interest on their own, encouraging curiosity and independent learning.
Please make time for reading at home, whether it's a few pages before bed, a story during breakfast, whilst you are making dinner, listen while driving to a sporting event or a visit to the library. Every bit of reading helps.
Thank you for supporting the reading journey of our children. Together, we can help them develop strong reading habits that will benefit them throughout their lives.
Bonne lecture
Liz
