How Science Technologies Sustainability and Stewardship classes are preparing our students.

Science, Technology, Stewardship & Sustainability                                               (STSS)

In STSS here at STAPS, students are taught Science, Technology, Stewardship & Sustainability.  Students are encouraged to be curious and hands-on learners through engaging learning experiences that are purposefully planned to combine the Science and Technology curriculums, all through a lens of Stewardship and Sustainability.

Students across all levels of the primary years are exposed to the Science curriculum over a two year cycle, which promotes:

  • Inquiry-Based Learning
  • Interdisciplinary Connections
  • Real-World Applications
  • Use of Technology to help make complex ideas more accessible and exciting for students
  • Diverse Learning Resources and Experiences
  • Scientific Communication Skills which sees students writing reports, creating presentations and participating in discussions,

In utilising this approach, we aim to create a stimulating learning environment,  where students articulate their understanding in an effort to foster curiosity and a lifelong interest in science and technology.
