Melbourne Museum Excursion

The Y9&10 DNA to Dinosaur class recently attended an excursion to Melbourne Museum to explore the prehistoric species and the story of their evolution. The highlights of the excursion included a program in the new Triceratops exhibition and seeing an iMAX documentary on the ‘Dinosaurs of Antarctica’, which presented the work the palaeontologists who are discovering the creatures that lived in Antarctica in a time when it was covered in forest during the Cretaceous and Jurassic periods. We also had a focus on investigating the species that have existed and evolved in ancient Victoria.

Over the next few weeks, we will continue this investigation with an incursion with Ben Francishelli, a Vertebrate Palaeontologist who will share his work discovering the fossils found at Beaumaris Bay.
