Principal's Report

Remembrance Day

Tomorrow is Remembrance Day where we remember those who have served and those who have died in all wars and peacekeeping operations.  Remembrance Day marks the date in 1918 when the First World War came to an end.  It is officially observed at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month each year.

This afternoon, following the new building opening,  a commemoration ceremony was held and all staff and students participated in a one minute’s silence to remember people’s service and sacrifice. During this week, many of our school leaders have been selling Remembrance Day badges with the proceeds of these going directly to the RSL.

Reminder to Parents

When standing on the front gate each morning, I am lucky enough to greet students and families as they enter our school. It has been terrific to see so many students scooting, riding and walking to school. Not only does this add to the health benefits for our students, we lower school traffic congestion and teach our children to be safe and responsible road users. I remind parents to ensure that students are wearing a helmet when they leave home in the morning as I am noticing a number of our students are not even bringing a helmet to school. Thank you for your support with this.

Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series Program

On Thursday the 2nd of November a group of year five students attended a science course held at the Botanical Gardens Cranbourne. The Learning Team at The Royal Botanic Gardens facilitated the Designed by Nature program with several schools in our area. The students used a variety of hands-on nature based and science-based resources to help them on their journey to discovering the design practice of Biomimicry. Biomimicry is learning from and then emulating biological forms, processes, and ecosystems to create more sustainable designs.

Christmas Carols

On Thursday 7th December, we invite families to join us on the school oval from 5:30pm for a BYO picnic.  Bring along some nibbles, a picnic rug or camp chair and find a spot to watch the carols from.  Please note this is a pet, alcohol and smoke-free event.

Students generally wear Christmas themed clothing, however, class teachers will be in touch with parents if a specific item (e.g reindeer antlers) are required for their class' performance.

The Concert then starts at 6:00pm, where each class will perform one Christmas song. The students will be required to sit with their classes at the front of the stage area during this time.  During the evening, our Christmas Raffle prizes will be drawn. Raffle tickets have been sent home and are currently on sale. You can ask for extra tickets from the office.

Sausages and choc tops will also be sold on the night (until sold out) to raise funds for our school - CASH ONLY.   The event will finish at roughly 7:30pm.
