More Book Week Activities

From Alice & Sarah M, Book Week coordinators

Our Book Week Celebrations lasted two weeks this year! After the fun of the Dress up day and open classrooms during Book Week, we all had the chance to experience some incredible Book Week performances.

Monday - author Nat Amoore

First up on Monday, Year 3 and 4 met the irrepressible and frankly irresponsible author Nat Amoore, who had us all in stitches with her stories of being a big celebrity author. Big shout out to Sonia for matching Nat’s energy on the day with her rapid fire interpreting!

Wednesday - Meerkat productions

On Wednesday, the Molesworth campus students enjoyed a live action production of “Frank’s Red Hat” with Meerkat productions. The actors had us singing and laughing along with Frank and Neville and all of their arctic pals.

Thursday - Slamming with Fleasey Malay

On Thursday Year 5 and 6 were treated to a Slam poetry performance with Fleasey Malay. Fleassey performed some captivating and thought-provoking pieces and gave us a glimpse of the Slam Poetry world and its philosophies of inclusiveness and elevating voices that are traditionally not given a platform.

Thank you

Once again we would like to thank the whole school community- staff, students, families and friends- who always make Book Week such an incredible experience at our school. The effort by everyone each year is truly tremendous and we are so grateful to have this community that shares our love for books, stories and reading.
