GS Warriors

Round 9 vs St David’s Kings we held the lead for most of the game went down in the last 2 minutes 18-21. We played well as a team sharing the ball, and looking for each other. Flynn’s and Tenny’s defensive pressure was some of their best.

GS Rockets

The GS Rockets put on an outstanding team performance this week in their 41-2 win over the Prescott White team.  Due to their strong and disciplined defence, they forced the opposition into shooting from long range where they were unable to score effectively.  All players dribbled and passed with skill and it was great to see the players compose themselves before executing lay ups and jump shots.

Scorers: Hunter, Jonte & Elijah (12 pts each), William (4 pts), Layla (1 pt)

GS Thunder

This week was a fun game playing our showdown with our GS friends Little Jordans. The energy was high, Chase was hot on defence all game and it was good to see Jacob and Felix’s confidence building as they got the ball in their hands more. We finished with the win 20-4 and it was good to see the good sportsmanship at the end of the match.

GS Raptors

The GS Raptors defeated the Pedare Lightning Thursday afternoon.  The game was quite close during the first half with the half time score 10-4.  The Raptors lifted during the second half and scored 20 points making the final score 30-10.  Hadassah was outstanding taking multiple strong rebounds in defence, one of which resulted in a full court dribble and basket.  Downey too had a great game and got the Raptors going with the first basket of the match.  Heath defended well all match and pressured the opposition.

GS Stars

This week was our last game of the season, and what a spectacular effort to finish up! We had multiple goal scorers in the game, and our defence was super strong! I was so impressed by the energy and effort shown by the whole team - such focus! 

As this week brings our Winter season to a close, I just want to reiterate here how proud I am of the whole team. The growth I've witnessed as coach across the last two terms, both for individuals and the team as a whole, has been wonderful. And most importantly, the positive and caring attitudes everyone brought each week in support of their team mates has been exceptional. Well done GS Stars!!
