Upper Primary Athletics Day

Tomorrow is the Upper Primary Athletics Day for our Stage 3 and 4 students. This event is held annually and serves as a platform for selecting participants for the Interschool 'Connected' Schools Athletics Carnival, in Term 4.

It presents a chance for students to explore athletic disciplines that are not featured in our school's Term 1 Sports Day. Students are welcome to try out multiple events, all in a non-pressured atmosphere. The top participants from each event will subsequently be chosen to represent the school at the Connected Athletics Carnival during Term 4.

While the final day of the term may be a rest day for our younger students (after Showcase), we strongly encourage all Stage 3 and 4 students to be present at school on this day. If your child cannot attend, please inform their class teacher. Students who miss the day will have the opportunity to participate in event trials at a later date if they were unable to attend.

Sincerely,

Jason Wain

Code Camp for Year 3&4 Students

We are trialling an after school program, run by Code Camp, for our Year 3&4 students in Term 4.  The coding sessions incorporate weekly challenges, functions, algorithms, branching, variables, game logic, user experience and maths.

From Code Camp:

'Coding after-school' is an 8-week program with a new project each week, and the fun doesn’t have to stop after class! Your child will be provided with their very own Code Camp World account which they can use to continue creating at home and to share their projects with family and friends.

If this is something that your Year 3 or 4 child would be interested in, please click on the button below.

Equipping Resources

As we are on the cusp of our school holiday break, I thought I’d share something a little different. Grow Ministries provide a range of resources that encourage faith at home. Sometimes people feel a little reluctant to engage in conversations that involve faith, preferring to leave that kind of thing to the ‘experts’. Here are three resources to help!

The ‘Encouraging faith at home’ resource outlines the four keys that underpin Grow resources: Caring Conversations, Devotions, Service and Rituals/ Traditions.

There is a ‘Sharing your faith with your children’ resource with ideas to try out. If you would like a copy of the Talk Time cards, I’m happy to share them with you.

The last resource gives you some ideas to help you explore the bible with your family. The break from school routine is an ideal time to nurture your faith at home!
