  • Monash Teaching Suitability Test (MTeST)

Late last term, Monash University launched a new non-academic test designed to assess teacher suitability.  The Monash Teaching Suitability Test (MTeST) is designed for entry into Monash Initial Teacher Education courses only and cannot be used to apply for other institutions.  Importantly, this is a free alternative to Casper.

Students do not need to book in for the test.  It will be held every Tuesday from 10.00am – 10.00pm online and only takes 15 minutes.

VTAC applicants are advised to complete either the MTeST or Casper by the following dates:

  • November 12, 2023 – December 2023 Round 1 (only current Year 12 domestic and current Year 12 International students)
  • December 5, 2023 – January 2024 Rounds 1, 2 domestic students and January Rounds 1,2,3,4 International students
  • January 10, 2024 – February 2024 Round 1 domestic students, January Round 5 International students
  • January 21, 2024 – February 2024 Rounds 2,3 Domestic students

For applicants who sat both tests, Monash will use the better result of the two.
