Important Information

Spotlight on Yard Duty and Supervision Policy
Below is an extract from our Yard Duty and Supervision Policy and the full policy can be found on the school website. It is important to know that supervision before and after school times are 8.45 - 9.00am and 3.30 - 3.45. When parents/carers are faced with an emergency they need to contact the school reception so that we can let your child/ren know alternative arrangements. It is not appropriate to message your child and puts additional responsibility on them to adapt. OSHClub provides after and before school care and this should be used to support early drop offs and late pick ups.
Before and after school
Mount Pleasant Road Primary School’s grounds are supervised by school staff from 8:45am until 3:45pm. Outside of these hours, school staff will not be available to supervise students. Kiss and Drop off is monitored by a staff member as well as a staff member roaming the school grounds including all entries and exits.
Parents and carers will be advised through Sentral and the Newsletter that they should not allow their children to attend Mount Pleasant Road Primary School outside of these hours. Families will be encouraged to contact OSHClub for more information about the before and after school care facilities available to our school community.
If a student arrives at school before supervision commences at the beginning of the day, the Principal or nominee staff member will, as soon as practicable, follow up with the parent/carer to:
- advise of the supervision arrangements before school
- request that the parent/carer make alternate arrangements.
If a student is not collected before supervision finishes at the end of the day, the Principal or nominee staff member will consider whether it is appropriate to:
- attempt to contact the parents/carers
- attempt to contact the emergency contacts
- place the student in an out of school hours care program (if available and the parent consents)
- contact Victoria Police and/or Child Protection to arrange for the supervision, care, and protection of the student.
Sun smart Hats
The sun is coming out for Spring and so is the UV index! With a UV index of 3+, we ask that all students now wear a sun smart hat during lunch and recess times. Please make sure your child brings their hat along to school or leave it at school for use everyday.
Dogs on school property
Just a reminder that dogs are not allowed on site between the school hours of 7:00am-6:00pm as we have students on site (including OSH Club) as well as our therapy dog, Murphy. If you happen to have your dog on school property outside these hours please ensure that you have a plastic bag or other means to dispose of any accidents that may occur. We have had repeated accidents left outside the portables on the oval which can cause issues for students walking through on their way to class. Thank you.
