Term 3 Week 10
We had a very successful Art Show which finished up on Wednesday. Our hall was decked out in a wide range of wonderful art pieces showcasing the artistic skill of students from Foundation through to Year 6. We were even spoilt with musical items and singing from the Year 6 students which added to the overall atmosphere. The neon glow in the dark art pieces in the blacked out room were also a highlight for many. We trust that all family members enjoyed viewing the pieces as they made their way around the gallery. Some were even tricked by the food pieces as they looked so realistic! We thank all of the parent helpers and teachers that helped to mount and set up the exhibits. A special thank you to Mrs. Gill for organising and overseeing all aspects of the Art Show, from the lead-up preparation to the actual set-up and running of the show.
On Monday our Year 4's went to Dandenong Basketball Stadium for a day full of basketball fun! Students were divided into teams and competed in a fixtured round robin against our district schools.
The day was non stop basketball and our students did our school proud by displaying high level skills in teamwork and sportsmanship. Our students (and staff) were exhausted by the end of the day and went home with many memorable moments shared with their peers. The day was an excellent opportunity for our students to be exposed to the sport of basketball, as well as, connect with peers through sport and fitness.
Thank you to Ms Chooi, Ms Baker, Mrs Butterworth, Mrs Giles, Diana Booth and the parents who came along to support our students and make the day a highlight of the term for many students.
On Thursday the SRC planned a Junior Palooza in which they set up a bunch of sporting equipment (chosen by students), bubbles and music. The Junior students were able to choose what they would like to play with throughout the first half of lunch and had a great time. It was wonderful to see our SRC Class Representatives helping set up/pack up equipment and joining in the activities. Fantastic effort and well done to Grace, Yianni and the SRC team.
