Welcome back to what is shaping up to be an exciting and busy term! 

Advent Family Activity

This year for our Family Advent Activity we would like to gather toiletries/personal hygiene items which will be distributed by our local St Vincent de Paul Society. If you are able to buy a small item each time you undertake your family shopping, that would be appreciated. You might like to purchase with the idea that your family box will be for a man or a woman, a teenage girl or boy, or a younger child. The date of this activity is yet to be determined, but when we all come together we ask that each family brings a shoe box and their purchased items. We will cover the shoe boxes and lids with Christmas wrapping paper. If anyone is able to purchase a few extra items, these can be left in the box in the front foyer. 

Socktober for Mission Month - Catholic Mission

Focus on Timor-Leste

We have committed to participating in Socktober for Mission Month this year. This will involve students engaging in learning about Catholic Social Teaching and participating in a Crazy Sock Day on Friday 27th October. On the day students are asked to bring in a coin donation. They can also bring in coins before this day. Classes will set out a coin line. In conjunction with Crazy Sock Day, Senior and Middle students will have made their own soccer balls out of recycled materials. These will be used in a Socktober Shootout! SRC members will help by advertising, collecting coins and marshalling their class on the day.

Advent Assemblies

Dates, times and the venue for our upcoming Advent Assemblies will be released in upcoming weeks. We are hoping to be able to gather together with families and friends to celebrate these events.

End-of-Year Whole School Mass and Year 6 Graduation Ceremony

Our End-of-Year Whole School Mass will take place on Wednesday 13th December @ 6:30pm in St Patrick’s Cathedral. All families and friends are invited to take part in this celebration of the school year. Following this all are invited to move into the St Patrick’s Cathedral large Hall to partake in the Graduation Ceremony of our current Year 6 Cohort. We also bid farewell to any families who will be leaving our school, whether their youngest child is transitioning to secondary school next year, or the family is moving.

School Choir

Due to restricted space, and the fact I was on extended leave in Term 3, the choir has not been running since earlier in the year. I would like to start the choir up again, to practise in order to lead us in singing at our end of year Thanksgiving Mass, as well as going to sing Christmas Carols for the residents of Nazareth House and Bill Crawford Lodge in late November or early December. Rehearsals will commence this week on Friday at lunchtime in Ms Johnson’s classroom in the house.
