Year 1/2

The Year 1/2s have been busy recapping their knowledge of 2-Dimensional shapes before they dive into learning about 3-Dimensional shapes. See them put their creativity to work, as they create pictures out of various 2-Dimensional shapes.

I used part of shapes to make a scary octopus! Suzanna

I used shapes like rectangles and hearts to make a robot! Raffaela

I used squares to make very, very, very big houses! William

I used circles as wheels and put a house on top! Rayzon

I used shapes like squares, triangles and stars to make a satellite! Lance

We can see 2D shapes everywhere in the world, even in space, like a circle for the sun! Connor

Year 2/3

Prayer is a really important time. You can pray in many different ways. You can pray anywhere and anytime. You can pray using your five fingers. You can also pray using rocks. We each made a prayer rock in class. We love prayer time. Raffaele, Amy, Katalina, Laura.

Every morning and afternoon, we pray to God. In the morning we say 'thank you' to God and then we say the Morning Prayer. In the afternoon we say the Hail Mary or the Our Father.  We also have put a prayer stone on out tables. We can hold them and pray. You can pay anytime and anywhere you want. Prayer is a time when you speak to God.  And you can pray and say anything you want to him. You want to be as close as possible to God. God will do anything to protect us. Prayer is important in our daily lives.

Viraj, Cody, Benjermen.

In class we created our own prayer stones. We got to decorate them too! After we finished, Marie told us to put them on our table. They looked great! At the end of each day, we put them near our class candle. Our class can use the stones to pray. We hold them when we pray. Emma, Chloe B., Austin.

You can pray using your 5 fingers. The thumb is when you pray for someone closest to you. The next finger is when you pray for people who teach you. Your middle finger is when you pray for people who are our leaders. Your ring finger is for praying for the sick and weak. And the little finger is when you are praying for yourself. You can also pray using a prayer stone. Chloe D., Eva, Shamus.

Year 3/4

This term in Religion, we have focused on different types of prayers. Part of this was to write our own Class Prayer using the prayer structure 'You, Who, Do, Through'.

Holy Lord of Heaven and Earth,

Who is holy and full of mercy, who forgives every sinner who has done wrong.

May you bring peace unto this world and cease conflicts. We also ask something of utmost importance to kids, to focus well at school and help us to face fears and challenges of all sorts.

We ask this in the name of our gracious and mighty Lord, Amen

Dear O’Mighty Lord God of mercy for heaven and earth,

Saviour of creation from humans to worms,

Please help us to focus on our learning in school while you help us to get better for the upcoming challenges throughout our lives. With your guidance for friendship, intelligence and prosperity we can do anything with your help. We also want to pray for Kate whose mother is unwell.
