Friends of Lutheran Archives (FoLA) - Thursday 21 September, 7:30 pm. Architectural Innovators – Pilgrim Lutheran Church Magill, 21 Edward Street, Magill. Please Note the change of venue. Guest Speaker: Chris Burns who is an historian at Heritage SA. He surveyed 650 new places of worship built in SA 1945- 1990 to produce a thematic history. Between them, Eric von Schramek and Norman Drogemuller revolutionised Lutheran architecture in SA, designing most new Lutheran churches built here after 1955 and creating some of the state's most outstanding modern churches. This illustrated talk, presented in Drogemuller’s Magill church with its modern art works by Voitre Marek, traces the architects’ careers in the context of modern church architecture. All welcome. $5.00 donation.
