WELCOME NEW STAFF

Hello, my name is Hayley Parker. I've lived in Alice Springs for 13 years now and I have four children. I've joined Living Waters to work with the Mid-year Foundation class. I last worked with Living Waters in 2019 before taking maternity leave, and I'm very excited to return to the school and see all the wonderful changes. It has been lovely to see some friendly faces and meet the new staff.

Hello! My name is Rebekah Dettmann.  I decided to move to Alice Springs after a short visit in July where I enquired into the Year 5 position at Living Waters. Within a few whirlwind weeks, I was saying goodbye to the chilly Melbourne winter and driving up the Stuart Highway! I have loved being so welcomed by the community and falling more and more in love with Alice Springs.

I am a graduate teacher from the Australian Catholic University in Melbourne, and have family based in a small town in central Victoria. I love reading, sewing, hiking, birdwatching, painting and singing. You’ll often find me with my ukelele teaching students new songs or singing old favourites in our brain break time.

I have loved starting my grad year at Living Waters in the Year 5 classroom. With such a supportive staff team and community, it’s been a great space to work together to create meaningful learning opportunities for students.

JUNIOR CHOIR

The Junior Choir have had two community outings this term. We visited Old Timer’s Nursing Home and Purple House. The choir performed many songs for the residents to enjoy. At the end of each performance, we sang ‘I am Australian’ and some of the residents joined in with the chorus. It is great that our choir can go out into the community, as this allows the students to grow in confidence and to practice singing in front of others rather than the school.
