We are coming to the end of a very busy term! We have had many events and learning happening around the school. There have been many moments throughout the past ten weeks where I have taken some time to reflect on our experiences. There have been moments of frustration and worry, but there have been many moments of compassion and dignity. There have been many moments of laughter, joy and hope. I have been in the privileged position of being able to witness this across our whole community.
Recently I was blessed to take some time out to attend a Lutheran Contemporary Learning Tour in California. We spent a week with other Australian Lutheran educators visiting a variety of schools, liaising with staff and students around each school’s scope of contemporary learning and PBL (Project Based Learning) initiatives.
This tour was inspiring and reignited my passion to continue to challenge traditional constructs of education and continue to do better and be better for the sake of our young people. We met several adults and children who were passionate about learning and were involved in authentic learning experiences. As they spoke about what they had learnt their faces lit up! It was a wonderful experience and I look forward to sharing more with staff, students, and families over the coming term.
This week we had Student Led Conferences. Thank you to the many families who came along to see and hear their child leading the conversation about how they are going with their learning and reflecting on where they would like to go next. We need your help next term to allow your child to achieve their goals by following through on what you discussed with them during the conference.
I hope that during this holiday break you can take some time to stop and enjoy some serious downtime. Hopefully, you can get out into this lovely spring weather and recharge your body, mind and spirit.
The term 4 calendar is filling up with many events. Please keep an eye out in the newsletters, Seesaw and Facebook for upcoming events. We look forward to seeing you in Term 4.
