The Importance of Community

Term 3 demonstrated the joy of being in community. As Principal, to be part of such a positive and supportive parent and staff community is energising. It also reinforces how powerful a supportive community is where everyone is accepted, valued and connected. We are grateful for the opportunities you have had to join us for classroom demonstrations of learning, the Book Week parade, school concert, cross country, chapels, assemblies, Father's Day breakfast and more. We are thankful that as a community we have been able to come together to support a family who experienced a terrible fire, honour and remember Miss Anderson with donations to the animal shelter and support those in need through food donations to Lutheran Care. Living Waters is a special community.

Looking ahead to Term 4 and planning for 2024

As a school, we continue to focus on students’ connections with one another. Students who have a sense of belonging will experience feelings of security, identity and community, which in turn supports their academic, psychological and social development. We know you want that for your children too.

In Term 4, we begin planning for the transition into the new year levels. We do not know which teachers will be in which year levels, and we won’t know that until late in Term 4. Hence, we don’t take any specific teacher requests for subsequent years. However, if you have something you would like us to consider in the placement of your child into a classroom in 2024, please email us at living.waters@ntschools.net. Your requests cannot be guaranteed but will be given careful thought in our planning.

Also, we will soon begin ordering materials for 2024. If you are planning to leave the school for relocation or other reasons, please let the office know no later than the first day of Term 4. As per enrolment contracts, families should give the school one full term’s notice prior to leaving to avoid charges for Term 1 2024.

Please remember that Monday, 9 October is a pupil-free day.

We thank you for your involvement in our community so far this year and look forward to partnering with you again in Term 4 and beyond. May God bless your holiday.
