Many of our co-curricular ensembles competed in the City of Orange Eisteddfod, gaining outstanding results across all areas. This year’s Eisteddfod was a very large one and our ensembles placed in every section entered. The adjudicator commented on both the high standard of music and size of the music program at KWS. Congratulations to our wonderful students and their directors on these outstanding results.

Last weekend Music 2 and Extension Music students showcased their HSC repertoire in a mammoth recital at Orange Regional Conservatorium of Music. A massive thank you to their accompanists Luke Moxey and David Shaw, for all the support they have provided these students over the past two years. Our thanks to Lorraine Moxey, who played for a number of Extension Music ensembles; also thanks to Lindsay Irik, Alina Zborowski, Stephanie Li, Ann Stevens, Ann Perrin, Cassandra Key, Laith Ismail and Phil Moran. Our students are lucky to work with such fine musicians. We are grateful to Orange Regional Conservatorium of Music who have generously donated the use of their fabulous auditorium.
Music 1 students entertained family and friends at a showcase of their HSC repertoire last week. Best wishes to these students for their HSC Practical Examinations which are being held this week. Thanks to their class teacher Mrs Churchward, along with accompanists Matt Arthur, David Shaw, Cassandra Key, Luke Ferguson and members of our Stage Band.
We celebrated the end of a busy term for our string players with a wonderful concert hosted in the DPA which showcased all our string ensembles. The concert featured our youngest players in Beginner Strings through to our most experienced in Chamber Strings, celebrating both large and small string ensembles performing a wide range of music. The high standard of music performed reflected the dedication and commitment of our string tutors and ensemble directors. Thanks to Ms Lindsay Irik and Mrs Katie Sinclair for their direction of Junior School string ensembles, and Mrs Lorraine Moxey for her direction of our Senior School ensembles. We also acknowledge all our fabulous students and parents who support our program.
