2023/24 Senior School Leadership Induction

Friday 15 September

I am very much looking forward to congratulating our newly appointed Student Leaders, Prefects and House Captains for 2023/34 when they are announced on Friday at the Senior School Leadership Induction. Their dedication, vision, and commitment has earned them these important roles, and we wish them well as they embark on their leadership journey.

As student leaders, it is important to heed the school's focus on servant leadership, and to lead by example. As Mahatma Gandhi once said, "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." Our student leaders’ service to the school community will not only inspire their peers but also leave a lasting impact on our institution.

We invite parents and careers of our new leaders to attend the Leadership Induction

The Induction Assembly will be held on Friday 15 September at 8:45am, in the DPA, and families of our inductees are warmly welcomed to come along to witness their badging. Afterwards, parents/carers are invited to morning tea with the new leaders.

If you are unable to attend or have extended family who wish to watch the Leadership Induction Assembly, please use the Zoom link below to access the livestream.

Year 12 Farewell and Blessing

Wednesday 20 September

On Wednesday 20 September, Year 12 will attend a Farewell and Blessing, where each student will be fare welled by their Mentor. Year 12 students are not permitted on the school grounds until 8:15am. The Farewell and Blessing will begin at 8:45am. We expect all students to behave appropriately and to be dressed in clean full school uniform (including blazer) for this special occasion. A morning tea will be provided.

The Farewell and Blessing will be followed at 12:45am by a lunch, where Year 12 students will be celebrated by their Mentor House.

Between the Farewell and Blessing and the Mentor House lunch, Year 12 students will have the opportunity for a farewell lap of honour around the Senior Campus, and the traditional shirt signing. Year 12 students are to bring a spare school shirt for signing. For the Farewell and Blessing, a clean shirt must be worn.

12:00pm Year 12 Graduation Ceremony

The Year 12 Graduation Ceremony for 2023 will be held at the Derek Pigot Auditorium at 12:00 noon. It is an expectation that Year 12 will be in full and immaculate school uniform. This will be the students’ last time to attend a school function as members of the current school community. It is a very special ceremony where each Year 12 student will be acknowledged. Parents of Year 12 and family members are warmly invited to attend this special occasion which will conclude at 2:00pm.

Parking for Graduation Attendees

Graduation parking for families attending the Graduation Ceremony has been reserved at the Orange Function Centre, just opposite the main driveway. Shuttle buses will be provided to transport attendees to and from the Derek Pigot Auditorium, continuously from 10:30am to midday and then from 2:00pm – 3:30pm. Please arrive slightly earlier to allow for extra time for you to transfer from your parking to the Auditorium.

Student Dismissal on 21 September

All students in Years 8 to 12 will be dismissed following the Graduation Ceremony and may be collected by families. Boarders will return to their houses to be collected. While it is preferable that all students leave campus, arrangements have been made for those who need to catch later buses to be supervised in the library.

Year 7 Last day is 20 September

Year 7 students who have siblings in Year 12 may attend the Graduation Ceremony and will sit with their House group. The remainder of Year 7 will not be required to attend school on 21 September.
