Junior School Musical – Seussical JR

Oh, the thinks you can think!

Think and wonder and dream – Far and wide as you dare!

It was so exciting to share with the community Seussical JR, a performance of this scale with a live audience and our students full of enthusiasm in presenting this show. There was so much colour and movement, accentuated by the combination of singing, choreography, acting, costumes, make up, sets, props, lighting and sound.

Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

There were many highlights throughout the action-packed show! Who could forget the Prep clover field and schools of fish, the Year 1 circus animals, the Year 2 hunters, complete with butterfly nets, the Year 3 Who children and band, the Year 4 jungle citizens, or the Year 5 circus attendants? Everyone gave their all on stage and worked so well as a team to communicate their part of the story.

Our Year 6 students are to be congratulated on all their hard work, tackling the lead roles and combining as a year group for some big production numbers. They should be extremely proud of all they have achieved.
