Talking about personal boundaries and consent - The Fathering Project
Occasionally interesting articles come across my desk and this was one I thought worth sharing.
Art Show Auction
We invite all families to look at the Art Show Auction items (Link on the Education Week page). Each of these Year Level items has a small contribution from all students in that year level, so consider bidding on these unique art pieces.
During Education Week join us for the Art Show, with food trucks and open classrooms. The Art Show will showcase pieces of artwork from all the students.
Additional Student Free Day
Parents are advised of an additional Student Free Day, which will be combined with Parent-Teacher Interviews on Tuesday 25 June.
This day is the only teacher Professional Practice Day for 2024.
Sick Kids at School
A reminder to parents to PLEASE keep sick kids at home. No child will learn properly if they are unwell and there is a high chance they will spread their illness around to other students and teachers. We have had a number of cases in the school over the past 2 weeks, so we need your support to help stop the spread.
Parent Contributions for 2024
Reminder again that Parent Contribution to the School Curriculum resources is overdue. We are currently well down on income in this area and may have to find ways to 'tighten our belt'. If you have paid yet, please consider doing so, even if it is just partial payment. Thank you.
Bunning BBQ
Help support JP Racing by heading to Bunnings Scoresby on Saturday 18 May - grab a snag and a drink.
TeamKids
If you are a user of TeamKids before and after school care, keep an ear out for some great news in the next week or so. We are hopefully welcoming a new Team Leader and 2IC to run our program. More later!!

It Takes a Village to Raise a Child
Parenting is one of the most rewarding jobs we can take on as adults. However, it is also undeniably one of the most challenging! If only children came with instruction books. Jells Park P would like to offer some free parenting seminars run by our Well-being Officer Laura Serong. To help us determine which one/s would best support our parent community and the times and ways you'd like them delivered, we have put together a 2-minute survey that we invite you to complete. Please CLICK HERE to have your say.
Building a National Picture of Child Health
From May 2024, our school, along with thousands of others across the country, will participate in the Australian Early Development Census (AEDC).
The AEDC is a teacher-completed census (similar to a questionnaire) which provides a comprehensive picture of how children have developed by the time they start their first year of full-time school.
The AEDC is an Australian Government Initiative and is completed nationally every three years.
The data collected through the AEDC is used by schools, communities and governments to better understand children and families’ needs, and identify the services, resources and support they need.
AEDC data is reported at a school, community, state/territory and national level. AEDC results for individual children are not reported and the AEDC is not used as an individual diagnostic tool.
Foundation parents will already have been emailed further information about this survey.
