Visual Arts
Only one and a half weeks until the Art Show!!
Our amazingly creative students have worked so hard on their artworks for the Art Show. There is a buzz of excitement in the Art Room as everyone is putting the finishing touches on their works and we cannot wait for you to see them.
This week we are featuring the Level 3, 5 and 6 Art Auction Pieces.
For the Level 3 Art Auction Piece ‘Flowering Rainbows’, the students did an incredible job of flicking the paintbrush to create the gum flower petals. They also applied a beautiful technique to paint the background and flowers.
With ‘Rainbow Visitor’ the Level 5 auction piece, students used oil pastels and acrylic paint to paint the rainbow lorikeet and background. They did a fantastic job of applying layers to create texture and colour.
For the Level 6 Art Auction piece, titled ‘Pom Pom Magic’, students created multi-coloured and different sized pom poms, which have come together magnificently to create this stunning wall hanging.
This year our Silent Auction is online and there is a link to it in Education Week section of this newsletter.
If you would like to place a bid on any of the artworks, the Auction is open until 6.45pm on the night of the Art Show, Wednesday 22 May.
Anyone can bid on this artwork including family and friends of students in the year level or families in other year levels.
All funds raised go back to the art room to purchase items for student use.
We can’t wait to see everyone there!
