John XXIII Rowing Club
Dear Families
Congratulations to our female rowers who kicked off the season with outstanding performances at their first IGSSA Regatta. Demonstrating both skill and determination, our athletes secured victories in five out of the 12 events they entered. A special mention goes to our Year 9 rowers, who, in their debut at the IGSSA Regatta, triumphed in the Freshman B Eight and Freshman C and D Quads.
Additionally, commendations are due to Lily Lucas and Cam Barbi for clinching wins in the Junior A and B Single Scull events, respectively. Not to be overlooked, the Senior Girls Eight delivered a thrilling performance, clinching a nail-biting second place to PLC, overcoming a significant deficit in the last 500 metres.
Looking ahead, John XXIII College is proud to host the upcoming IGSSA Rowing Regatta on Saturday 11 May at Champion Lakes. This event marks the major fundraising opportunity of the year for our Club. We are immensely grateful to the parents and families who have already committed their time and efforts to support our hosting duties next week. For those still wishing to contribute, we invite you to sign up to bring something delicious for the cake stall. Your participation and support are what make these events successful and memorable for our rowers.

Rowing training tops on sale
We have a limited number of blue training tops for sale in the Uniform Shop. Prices are as follows:
- Short-sleeved training tops: $15 each
- Long-sleeved training tops: $20 each
Rowers are able to wear their training tops to land training as an alternative to their school sports polo, so they are a great option to cut down on the weekly washing! They are also great under the zootsuits on the colder mornings. All proceeds from the sales of the tops will go directly to the club as a fundraiser, so even more reason to purchase one…or two.
