Discovery Centre

Highlight

It has been another wonderful week in Foundation with students exploring syllables. We have investigated how syllables work and have enjoyed playing games to help us identify how many syllables different words have. In Maths, we have continued to learn about mass and capacity using the key words heavy and light to describe the mass of different objects. Creating shells when learning about the code 'sh' was another highlight.

Guided Inquiry this term takes us on a walk through history. So far students have created timelines and shared significant events in their history, eg. birth, family holidays, kinder and starting school. To support students with their journey through time, we are currently planning an excursion to the Melbourne Museum on Wednesday May 29th. How exciting! We will need parent helpers for the day so if you are available and like to join us, please contact your child's teacher.

Take care for the rest of the week and looking forward to another fun week in Week 3.
