State School Spectacular:

In the last week of term 1 Western Heights College held the regional State Schools Spectacular rehearsal where many of our local primary schools and other secondary schools attended. Students were put through a rigorous day of choreography learning a total of 3 different dances. We were lucky enough to have a visit from Deon Nuku the Dance Director of the 2024 State Schools Spectacular. Deon has performed in many stage productions both nationally and internationally, has worked on TV shows and movies such as Neighbours, X-Factor and Moulin Rouge and worked alongside singers such as Macy Gray and Kylie Minogue.

State Schools Spectacular is a live show that will be performed on September 14th at John Caine Arena as well as broadcast on channel nine. Over the next few weeks WHC students will be busy rehearsing and learning the extensive 8 dances.

Dental Van Visit - Week of 29th April

On Monday 29th - Friday 3rd May our school will have the Australian Dental Health Van visit our college community. The school dental health initiative is Australia wide and offers an opportunity for young people in our school from years 7-12 to book in during the course of the week to provide a full dental examination, two small diagnostic X-rays, re-mineralisation of teeth and fissure seals if required at no cost. If your child needs any fillings, you will be contacted.  If you provide further consent - the dental van staff can complete further onsite treatment.

An individual treatment plan can also be written and provided. All students next week will receive a consent form with further information.  You will need a Medicare card to receive the full free treatment.
