Food Technology Update

Food Technology specialises and explores the application of nutrition principles and the characteristics and different properties of food, food selection, preparation, and food issues. Students explore and come to understand the importance of the variety of foods available from around the world, nutrition, production, food preparation skills and food safety, as well as sustainability.

Term two in food technology sees our students learn about multicultural foods and experience how different cultural foods influence our everyday food choices. This enables our students to have a clear understanding of different religions and ethical beliefs, and how these have influenced our western lives, giving them the knowledge and cultural understanding to succeed in life. Our students also investigate ethical issues in food, special diets, and food safety.
