Grade 1/2 News

The 1/2 students are working hard on their writing at this term. Currently, we are writing Odes about our favourite fruit or vegetable. The students have enjoyed sharing their favourite things about their food. This works in beautifully with our Inquiry topic for this term. They have also been reading them back to their classmates with wonderful expression and fluency. 

Below are some examples of our wonderful writing in the ½ unit.

Kindred- 

Oh, lovely watermelon!

You make me drool. You are so lovely and juicy like a big summer pool.

I’ll eat you for hours at a time. Your lovely taste is something I will underline.

So tasty like sugar plum you make my mouth so very numb.

Oh watermelon, I love you so!

Oh, sweet mango!

You are so juicy and sweet like a rainbow.

I love to eat you all the time.

You’re my favourite food and my destiny. You remind me of mango lollipops.
