Kylie’s Rambling

Message from the Acting Principal

Hello Families,

What a terrific Week 3 we have had! Going around to the classrooms the students have been able to articulate what they are learning and how they know they are successful.

Each morning, the students in every classroom are participating in their morning circle. The Morning Circle is based on the Berry Street trauma informed education model. This is where our students can review school values and expectations. We also share and celebrate any announcements and successes. The morning routine allows our young people to ground themselves, co-regulate and establish a common rhythm for the learning day.

Next Friday, we have our Community Open morning, starting at 8am. We have posters around the school and information within the newsletter on how to pre-purchase breakfast for the morning. We will also have a coffee van where the community can purchase hot drinks. We will then have an open morning for 30 minutes within the classrooms where families can pop in and join in on some of the learning for the day.

The Grade 6 School Leaders and House Captains went to the GRIP Conference at Federation University today. This is a wonderful opportunity for the students to develop and learn new skills in leadership. Many schools across Ballarat participated in this event. The school leaders and school captains can’t wait to share with the community some of the wonderful things they learned.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
