Principal message

Dear Students, Parents and Staff,

I extend my gratitude to everyone for the positive start we've had in Term 2.

Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation

To all students embarking on the sacramental program for 2024, we eagerly anticipate your presence at the Information Session this evening (Wed 24th) at 6pm in the Jaara Centre. More information on the Catholic Identity page.

Mother’s Day

As we approach Mother’s Day, we look forward to the activities organised by our Parents & Friends Committee. These include a Mother’s Day Sale on May 9 and a Mother’s Day Coffee & Muffin event on the Friday morning May 10. Please keep an eye out for forthcoming details on the P&F page.

Anzac Day

Our school's recognition of Anzac Day will occur Today (Wednesday, April 24).

We also look forward to our attendance at the Kangaroo Flat RSL Sub-Branch Anzac Day Commemorative Service at the Soldiers Memorial Garden.

If you would like to march you are invited to wear school uniform and meet at 8.30am for the briefing in Camp Street (near Uniting church grounds opposite Aldi).

Our school Captains will lead our school community in the march and lay a wreath during the service at the cenotaph.

Lest we Forget.

Assemblies, Student Recognition, and Community Connection

Commencing from Term 2, 2024, the following initiatives will be implemented:- Assemblies will take place every second Friday from 3pm (starting Week 3 – Fri May 3),

led by Grade 5/6 classes, beginning with 5/6E. Each assembly will commence with a brief acknowledgment and prayer, followed by the recognition of student achievements, special celebrations, and the singing of our National Anthem.- Monday morning gatherings will no longer occur, with class teachers providing week-ahead outlines in their respective classes.- We are aware that a key reason for the Monday gatherings was to increase parent engagement opportunities. Coffee will be served from the Canteen Window from 8:40-9:00am on Monday, April 29, and every fortnight thereafter in conjunction with the Assembly weeks (Week 3, 5,7, 9 & 11).

Enrolments & Transition

Enrolments for 2025 are now officially open and will close on May 24. Please refer to our new promotional clip for further details.

A gentle reminder that current families must complete the enrolment process even if we know you have a sibling coming through. You can start here with an enrolment enquiry and you will be sent an application for enrolment. For queries, please reach out to Paige Cartwright in the office.

Best wishes to our Grade 6 students as they contemplate their year 7 enrolment options for 2025. In the upcoming weeks, students will have the opportunity to exploreMarist College BendigoandCatherine McAuley Collegeto gain insights into secondary school opportunities and choices.

A letter went home last week to all grade 6 families regarding a transition day at Marist on April 30th. You do not need to be enrolled however you do need to register to attend by this Friday.

Co-Curricular & Excursions

Wishing the best to all students participating in the next level of the Goldfields & Sandhurst Division Cross Country next week, as well as those attending the excursion to the Bendigo Gallery. 5/6 students going to Cross Country on Wednesday will go to the Gallery on Thursday so no-one misses out. Please make sure permission is given via Simon Everywhere app (PAM) for all upcoming events.

We eagerly anticipate our staff Professional Learning Day this Friday and the possibility of connecting with families next Monday morning or next Friday afternoon.

In Faith and Community,
