Marist College Ashgrove supports the teaching of ‘the whole child’ through the continued development and implementation of the MOC (Men of Courage) primary program and ASH (secondary) program. In the secondary school, the 2024 timetable structure has more lesson time for new programs and guest speakers that have been added to the existing lessons, as well as initiatives on improving academics and learning styles with additional content delivered by the academic care team.
Below is a summary of key themes for each of the year levels in Term 2. I have included specific weeks for guest speakers and presentations. Many thanks to Mr Anthony Graham (Pastoral Leader Primary school), Mr Joshua Kersevani (Pastoral Leader Middle School) and Mr Phill Holding for their continued development of the MOC and ASH programs.
Below is a summary of key themes for each of the year levels in Term 2:
All students are invited to attend the Ashgrove Anzac Day March this Thursday 25 April. The traditional march will take place with all students invited to attend. The March starts at 7:30am from Betheden Terrace, Ashgrove and proceeds outbound on Waterworks Road to Ashgrove Memorial Park.
We will gather behind the St Finbarr’s Catholic Church at 7:15 am. The ceremony commences at 7:45 am and runs for approximately 45 minutes.
Students must wear their full winter uniform ensuring it is clean and presentable, including formal hat. Blazers are required for all students except for Years 8 and 9.
Students at Marist are invited to participate in a study conducted by the University of Queensland’s Compassionate Mind Research Group that aims to explore and understand emotion and motivation in young people.
All students (Year 7-12) will complete the study and only the data is collected from the students whose parents have also provided consent for them.
Students will complete a one-time online questionnaire in their pastoral group lessons in Weeks 3 and 4, which should take around 20 minutes; this will be facilitated by school staff. This will involve:
The data collected from our students will provide useful wellbeing feedback for the school.

Term 1 Co-curricular photos will be available to purchase at www.beyondschoolphotos.com.au from Friday, 26 April 2024.
The 2024 Pastoral Group and individual portraits are now available to order.
Each student has a unique Photo Access Key that you will need before logging onto the Photographers website.
It can be found via the Parent Portal here –
If you have multiple children attending the College, each child will have their own unique Photo Access Key. You can order photos for multiple children in one session by entering a Photo Access Key, ordering, then clicking on the "Continue Shopping" button to start an order for another child.
Please note you will need to know your child’s House and Pastoral Class when ordering Sibling Photos.
