Mascot RSL Sub-Branch ANZAC Day Commemoration

On Sunday 19 April, our school proudly took part in the Mascot RSL Sub-Branch ANZAC Day 2026 Commemoration. This important event brings together members of our community to remember and honour the sacrifices made by Australian and New Zealand service men and women.

We would like to sincerely thank our student leaders and staff members who represented our school with great respect and dignity. Their participation, including laying a wreath on behalf of our school, was an important way to show our gratitude and support.

ANZAC Day is a very special occasion that reminds us of the courage, commitment, and strength of those who have served in the armed forces. Being part of this ceremony helps our school community reflect on these values and reinforces the importance of remembering our history while supporting one another.

Thank you again to everyone involved in making this meaningful event a success.

ANZAC Day School Ceremony

On Friday 24 April, JJCMHS came together to hold a heartfelt ANZAC Day ceremony that was both respectful and moving. The ceremony was expertly led by Mr Pitt along with his Year 11 Modern History students: Jackson, Mikayla, Oliver, and Anastasia. We were also privileged to hear a sincere Acknowledgement of Country delivered by Tanesha, which paid respect to the traditional custodians of the land.

We were honoured to welcome Lieutenant Commander Rachael Cosgrove-White (retired), President of the Mascot RSL Sub-Branch, as our special guest. Her presence added great significance to the occasion, reminding us all of the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by those who have served.

A huge thank you goes to all the Year 11 students for their excellent leadership and the sense of responsibility they showed throughout the event. Their dedication helped create a meaningful and respectful atmosphere. We would also like to commend the entire JJCMHS student body for their maturity and respect during the ceremony.

Events like this help us to connect with our history and understand the true meaning of ANZAC Day. As always, we remember and honour those who served with the words:

Lest We Forget
