The love of the heart of Jesus
is essentially merciful.
His role on earth was not to condemn
but to forgive,
not to shun those who suffer
but to comfort them.
Jules Chevalier, Meditations II, p.631 f.
This year, we implemented a new way of raising money for Project Compassion. We held a competition between the School House colours. It was a lot of fun and the results exceeded all expectations!
Thank you to students, families and staff for donating coins to this worthy cause.
Caritas Project Compassion - longest coin line results:
Treand - $295.95
Hartzer - $313.30
Piperon - $394.80
Issoudun - $532.70
Total amount - $1,536.75

In addition, proceeds from the green donut sale on St Patrick’s Day contributed to Monivae’s overall donation of $1,716.75 to Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion fundraiser.

We concluded Term 2 with a deeply moving Easter Liturgy that brought our school community together in reflection and reverence. Fr Shane, alongside several students, led a powerful reenactment of the Stations of the Cross, inviting all present to engage more fully with the significance of the Easter story.
Accompanied by Mr Harry Price; Ms Colleen Watt and Year 12 student Christabel Kenechukwu captivated the audience with a stirring performance of Hallelujah.

The liturgy reached a poignant conclusion with Peyton Payne’s expressive dance, portraying Mary’s grief at the foot of the cross. Her performance captured the sorrow and strength of this moment, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended. It was a meaningful and memorable way to mark the end of the term.
Twenty-five of our Year 12 students raised $22,053 for the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave – this is a record amount for Monivae!

It was an amazing effort for all involved and a special thanks to local hairdressers and Old Collegians, Peta Richards, Belinda Colliton and Kate Pickford. Also thank you to Year 12 student, Ellie Foley, for also assisting with the cutting and shaving on the day.

On the second day back of Term 2, our school community came together in faith and joy to celebrate our Resurrection Mass. We rejoiced in the good news that Christ has risen, bringing hope and new life to all.

This celebration was made even more special as it was the first Mass celebrated at Monivae by Fr John Corrigan with our school community, marking a meaningful milestone in our faith journey. We were grateful to have him lead us in this beautiful celebration.
Alleluia! Christ is risen!
The Year 12 Retreat was an unforgettable experience at a magnificent new location, Cave Hill Creek, set within a stunning landscape surrounded by a tranquil lake and natural vegetation.
With plenty of activities to enjoy during downtime, students had the chance to relax, connect, and make lasting memories together. The Heart's Journey Retreat is a valuable opportunity for bonding, reflection, and setting meaningful goals for the next five months ahead.

A perfect balance of fun, focus, and a time to journey inward and reflect, as our Year 12s prepare for the journey to come.
