Learner Attributes at King’s College
At King’s College, we believe education is about far more than academic achievement alone. Alongside developing knowledge and skills, we are committed to nurturing the qualities and dispositions that help students grow into confident, capable, and Christ-centred young people. As part of this commitment, the College is working to develop a framework of Learner Attributes that will help shape teaching and learning across all year levels.
Learner attributes describe the habits, attitudes, and behaviours that support effective learning. While curriculum focuses on what students learn, learner attributes focus on how students learn. These attributes include qualities such as perseverance, curiosity, collaboration, responsibility, resilience, reflection, and creativity. They help students engage positively with challenges, work effectively with others, manage themselves well, and continue developing as lifelong learners.
These learner attributes will be intentionally embedded into the College’s teaching and learning practices so that they become a visible and consistent part of everyday classroom life. Teachers will explicitly model, teach, and reinforce these attributes through classroom activities, discussions, collaborative learning, reflection, goal setting, and feedback. Rather than existing as a separate program, learner attributes will be integrated into curriculum planning, assessment, and classroom expectations across all subject areas and year levels.
By creating a shared language around learning, we aim to help students better understand themselves as learners and equip them with the skills and dispositions needed not only for success at school, but also for life beyond the classroom. Most importantly, these attributes align with our desire to see students grow into young people who use their gifts to know and serve God in a changing world.

Makers Market
The recent Makers Market was a fantastic success, showcasing the incredible creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit of our students. The event was filled with excitement as students proudly displayed and sold their handmade creations, with stalls featuring a wonderful variety of products and ideas.
It was wonderful to see the students so engaged and enthusiastic throughout the day. Their hard work, teamwork, and creativity truly shone, and the positive atmosphere made the event enjoyable for everyone involved. Many students experienced the thrill of running their own stall and were delighted with their success.
A huge thank you goes to our dedicated staff and PTFA members for their support in setting up, assisting throughout the event, and packing away afterwards. Your time and effort helped the Makers Market run so smoothly and made the afternoon possible.
We also hope all the mothers enjoyed their special gifts purchased at the market. The event was a wonderful celebration of creativity, community, and student achievement, and we are incredibly proud of all involved.
Thank you again to everyone who contributed to making the Makers Market such a memorable event.
