Messages from the Principal

Hello NPS Families,
I have to start by acknowledging one of our very own staff members - Tobyn Murray. Last night, Tobyn was drafted to the Fremantle Football Club (pick 40) in the AFL's National Draft.
The statistics that are shared that highlight just how hard it is to be drafted and make an AFL list is mind-blowing, and for Tobyn to have worked so hard to achieve his dream is nothing short of extraordinary.
Tobyn came in this morning to say farewell to the staff and, of course, the students - many of whom were excited yet saddened to see him leave. He even brought his mother, Julie, along, which was absolutely lovely.
I have already hit Tobyn up for several Fremantle Jerseys for our trivia night, as well as some Brownlow tickets. We'll see. ;)
Congratulations Tobyn!
Although we have one final School Council meeting left for the year, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our wonderful School Council members. Their dedication, insight, and tireless work towards making our school even greater is invaluable. School councils are groups that need to be dedicated to providing strategic direction and oversight to ensure school decisions are focused on the best outcomes for our students. Our School Council, led by Georgia Lea, has displayed a great commitment and investment in the future of our school, and I want to thank them for their continuous support.
At our recent School Council meeting, I was very pleased to share that the recent data received from our 2025 Parent Opinion Survey was very positive! I have included a snapshot of this below.
The PoS feedback provides us with crucial information and affirms the strong partnership between home and NPS. Thank you to every family who took the time to complete the survey. Your input is vital in helping us celebrate our successes and identify areas for continued growth. As always, if you have feedback for us as a school - we/I am very interested to hear it via our 'Always On Feedback Portal'.
It has been an absolute delight again this week to see our Prep Transition Program continue with great success! Our Prep students for 2026 enjoyed their second transition session this morning, and it is brilliant to see them start to get to know their teacher and, most importantly, begin to form friendships with their classmates. A huge thank you to Mrs. Sadowy for her planning and organisation of such a great program for our incoming Preps.
I have been saying it for a few weeks now, however, the end of the year just continues to creep up on us all. We only have four weeks of the school year left, and that brings a mix of excitement yet also a little bit of fear when we look at the packed calendar! We have many important events, celebrations, and learning milestones to complete, including excursions, end-of-year events, and Graduation. Please keep an eye on the calendar and the communications that we share!
Thank you, have a great weekend, and bye for now!
Corrie Barclay
Principal.
