Our Parents Living the TC Spirit
“The family remains the primary place of education. Catholic schools collaborate with parents, they do not replace them” - Pope Leo XIV Apostolic letter
As we navigate the rhythm of the final weeks of the school term and in fact, the final weeks of the 2025 school year, last Tuesday afforded us the opportunity to pause and reflect on a vital component of the heartbeat of our College community at the Parent Helper Sundowner - our parents and caregivers. Over 100 parents joined us at Faradays where we were able to acknowledge and express our gratitude for the significant contributions of parents to the TC Spirit and the rich experiences their sons have at the College. Our parent involvement and connectedness is the envy of other school communities and forms an invaluable, collaborative partnership that benefits the boys across the entire College from Year 4 to Year 12.
The motivation of love is impossible to quantify, but it is phenomenal here at TC. Our parents support the Performing and Creative Arts, brave early mornings, late nights and weekends for summer and winter sporting seasons, and you cheer on sidelines in the torrential rain and blazing sun. You drive thousands of kilometres a year for your sons (and often their friends too), wholeheartedly support our Masses in celebration of our Faith community, attend numerous social events, College Assemblies, the famous College Ball, ‘Friends Of’ groups, various Committees, and offer expertise to the Parent Council and the College Advisory Council.
We are incredibly blessed to have a parent body that partners and collaborates with us so willingly and so fully. As Pope Leo noted in his recent Apostolic Letter Disegnare nuove mappe di speranza (Drawing New Maps of Hope) we are here as a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice tradition to collaborate with you as parents, for the full and rich benefit of your sons.
Live Jesus in our hearts.
