A Message from Keir and Emma

“We would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people, the first people to dream, create, wonder, dance, play and learn on this breathtaking land. This land was cared for and respected for tens of thousands of years. The First Nations people lived in companionship with the animals and the life on this land. We acknowledge that this is stolen land and we pay our respects to elders, past, present and emerging.”

Volunteers Morning Tea

BNWPS would not be the lovely community that it is, and would not be able to run some of the amazing activities that we do without the generous support of volunteers. Volunteers help us out in so many ways; excursions, Sprout, helping out in the classroom - we really couldn't do it without you!

To say a big Thank You, we are having a volunteer morning tea on Friday 12th December at 10am on the Sprout deck. If you have volunteered your time at school, at a school event, on a committee or a working bee, we would love to see you there.

RAM

Last Tuesday our Senior students participated in RAM - Race Around Melbourne. For those that aren’t familiar, this is a day during which students work with a group to visit various Melbourne landmarks collecting points, with the aim being to earn as many points as possible. The entire day - including public transport times and routes - is planned by students. Not only is the day a lot of fun, but it is also an amazing opportunity to promote students’ independence and prepare them for life outside of BNWPS.

RAM is yet another example of a school activity that we would not be able to run without the help of parent volunteers. Our sincere thanks goes to the volunteers that accompanied one of our student groups on the day.

Message from Keir

I am very delighted to have been offered the position of substantive Principal at BNWPS. From the moment I began my work here (during the second lockdown in 2021 - very tricky times!) I have felt very much ‘at home’ and I am very excited by what our future together will bring. I look forward to working with and for each of you into next year and beyond.
