PULSE

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM PULSE!

By Amanda Wight (Pulse Co-ordinator)

It’s difficult to fathom that this is the last newsletter for 2025. So often at this time of year I find myself wondering just where the year went. It can feel that in the pace of life, the precious moments are slipping through my fingers as I struggle to stay on top of the necessary and my children seem to grow inches before my very eyes. So I must stop and ask myself…where did the moments go and as I look back at the year I can see growth and adventure, memories and precious moments in the ordinary. I am so thankful for so many blessings.

As you are no doubt aware, BHCS life this year has been busy as ever, from classroom learning to excursions, sports days to production, exams to dress-ups, camps and so much more…what a year! As parents, we want to thank our wonderful teachers and staff for all they do to pour into our children’s lives and make this school the special place that it is.

Our parent community in Pulse has been busy too. We kicked off the year with a restructure and parent survey, we’ve hosted Prayer and Worship nights, prayer times, organised Father’s and Mother’s Day stalls and of course… the 2025 Pulse Bush dance.

We want to take this opportunity to thank every parent involved in Pulse this year from filling in the survey, to stocking and manning the stalls to planning and decorating the Bush dance. We appreciate each and everyone’s contributions – without you – Pulse simply wouldn’t be.

And we’re not done yet… we’re on the home stretch but we hope you’ll help us kick of the festive season with the Community Picnic next Wednesday.

As a parent, it is so easy to get lost in the busyness of this time of year. There are holiday plans to make, presents to purchase and meals to cook. We can forget to stop and remember what this season is all about. John 1:14 says “the Word became flesh”. Such a simple phrase but it holds the richness of eternity. God became a man in a tiny middle eastern village a little over two thousand years ago – a long way from tinsel and twinkly lights – and because of that we can know forgiveness and peace with God.

So as we roll into the summer break, some of us hanging on by our fingernails, we pray that everyone in our BHCS community has a safe and restful holiday time and that you can join us in taking a moment to pause and reflect on what it means that “the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world” (1 John 4:14).
