A YEAR MARKED BY GOD'S FAITHFULNESS

BY VICKY FRAANJE - DEPUTY PRINCIPAL (PEOPLE, WELLBEING & DAILY OPERATIONS)

As this school year draws to a close, there is much to give thanks for. Together, we have shared milestones, navigated challenges, and watched students grow in courage, character, and kindness, and these everyday moments have been a quiet reminder of God’s faithfulness in our community.

The end of the year is a natural time to pause, catch our breath, and reflect. In the busyness of Celebration Night, Awards assemblies, reports, and graduations, it is good to remember that rest is a gift, and that God invites us to step into the holidays with hearts that are grateful for what has been and hopeful for what is to come.

As we look ahead to Christmas, many things will rightly bring joy: family gatherings, traditions, travel, warm weather and time to slow down. Yet at the centre of it all is a simple but profound truth that Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus, a sign of God’s love, hope, peace, and joy for the world.

In the Christmas story, God chooses an ordinary place and ordinary people to show extraordinary love. That same love is reflected in classrooms, playgrounds, staffrooms, and homes whenever we show compassion, forgive one another, and serve quietly in the background for the good of others.

Thank you for the many ways you have supported your children, our staff, and one another this year. May your holidays be refreshing, may your homes be filled with peace and laughter, and may you know the deep joy that comes from the true heart of Christmas, God with us.
