Congratulations to our SACE Stage 1 Food and Hospitality students
During week 5, our year 11 SACE Stage 1 Food and Hospitality students demonstrated impressive skills as they prepared and catered a variety of attractive platters for staff.
In the lead-up to the event, students researched Food Standards Australia New Zealand, FSANZ, requirements and practiced essential safe food handling skills, including temperature control, cross-contamination prevention, allergen awareness, personal hygiene, effective cleaning and the correct storage and labelling of food.
Sustainability was a key focus, with students considering seasonal and locally sourced ingredients and employing waste reduction strategies. Working collaboratively in groups, they designed, prepared, and presented sweet and savoury items for a modern grazing box. Each group developed an action plan, taking into account kitchen skills, equipment needs, FSANZ food safety requirements, budgeting and selecting recipes based on seasonal availability.
All preparations were well organised, with some components made in advance and stored appropriately to ensure the final presentation ran smoothly during practical lessons.
Congratulations to all students involved for your teamwork, thoughtful planning and high attention to detail.

Welcoming our 2026 School Captains
Our 2025 school captains welcomed the newly elected 2026 school captain team with a memorable leadership handover excursion to Adventure Rooms.
This special event provided the perfect setting for collaboration, connection, and friendly competition as the students participated in a variety of problem-solving and team-building challenges.
We are delighted to introduce our 2026 school captains, Bailee S and Alex W, alongside vice captains, Lani P and Aleisha M.
Throughout the day, the new leaders shared ideas and aspirations with the outgoing team, working together on activities designed to strengthen communication and group cohesion.
We look forward to watching Bailee, Alex, Lani, and Aleisha promote student leadership and help further develop our inclusive and positive school culture in 2026.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our 2025 school captains, Hannah S, Alex R, Lacey C and Matilda A.
Their hard work and enthusiasm have had a significant impact on our school community, and we appreciate their dedication to the role throughout the year.
Congratulations to both leadership teams, and we wish our 2026 captains every success as they take on their new responsibilities next year.
Year 11 students visit Estia Health Aberfoyle Park
In the final two weeks of lessons, year 11 students at Aberfoyle Park High School spent time developing their empathy skills and connecting with our local community.
Students were set the challenge of creating a gift for a resident of Estia Health Aberfoyle Park that would bring them joy, connection and be something that they could be engaged by.
The gifts were then delivered by the students to the residents on 21 November. Thank you to the residents for welcoming us so warmly and the time you took to engage in conversations with our students.
The students will have fond and lasting memories of this experience.
