We've had a few busy weeks with teams competing at Regional and State finals.

Boys Regional Netball

We sent two teams to compete at the Boys Regional Netball Day. Both teams played exceptionally well and showed great improvement as the day progressed. Their teamwork, determination, and growing skills were evident in every game.

Softcross State Finals

Both our mixed and girls’ teams represented us proudly at the State Softcross Finals. Each team won 3–4 games—an outstanding achievement, especially considering many of the other schools had far more experienced Softcross players. The girls brought fantastic energy, staying positive throughout the day and keeping spirits high with their constant chants and encouragement.

Hoop Time State Finals

A massive congratulations to our Year 5 & 6 Hoop Time team who competed at the State Finals last Friday! Reaching the State Finals is an incredible achievement—our boys ranked in the top 20 out of 717 teams who took part in Hoop Time throughout the year.

On the day, they finished 10th in the state, which is an outstanding effort. They should be extremely proud of their hard work, determination and teamwork.

A huge thank-you to all the parents who came along to support, cheer and encourage the boys and also for helping with transporting them to the event.

2026 Cricket Blast & AFL clinics

In Term 1 next year we are excited to be running a Woolworths BLAST cricket clinic.

This is a FREE Woolworths Community Fund Program- delivered by Cricket Victoria at Great Ryrie Primary School

Grab your friends and join Cricket Victoria on Tuesdays for an hour of cricket!

Dates: Tuesdays - February 17, 24 & March 3, 10

Time: 3:35pm - 4:35pm

Also in Term 1 2026, Auskick & Superkick are coming to Great Ryrie PS in Term 1 2026 starting FEBRUARY 26th!

Auskick is open for all students aged 5 - 7 (as of 31/12/2026), and Superkick is open for all students aged 7 - 12 (as of 31/12/2026).

All students who sign up will also receive their very own footy!
