Parent Helpers
We are running two sessions to induct parent helpers prior to helping out in the classroom. During this session we will discuss the "Do's, Don'ts and Musts" as well as tips to assist you when working with the OHR students. It is strongly recommended that all class helpers attend these sessions.
When: Thursday August 15th 8.45am -9.15am or 2.45-3.15pm
Thanks to those parents who have rsvp'd to lcanty@ohrsurreyhills.catholic.edu.au. If you are able to make it, please let me know. Remember to include which session you are attending.

Michael Ymer returns August 14 @ 7pm
At the beginning of the year Michael Ymer, a Mathematics consultant, spoke to the questions below during our Information Evening. On August 14 at 7:00pm, he will continue with this theme and extend his explanation going deeper into how you can help your children at home with their mathematics. He will touch on pedagogies of teaching mathematics, addressing explicit teaching which we have read and heard of in the media recently.
- What is my child learning in mathematics?
- How can I help my child become an efficient problem solver?
- How do children best learn mathematics?
- How can parents promote quality thinking and learning?
- How can I help my child in mathematics?
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come along. Michael also has time for questions from you throughout the evening.
Please RSVP here so that I can prepare necessary take away resources for you.
