Faith Week

Next week is Faith Week at Clayfield and our Chapel Captains, Arwen Abad and Dimity Whitaker, have planned activities to celebrate the spiritual life of our College. There will be face painting, banner making, pavement chalk art, a Kahoot lunchtime on Thursday, craft activities for Primary students and the Chapel band will be doing an open mic performance on Friday during lunchtime. 

 

For Faith Week, Secondary Chapel Services are fortunate to have the talented Melbourne based visual artist and storyteller, Lynton Allan, as a special guest presenter on Monday and Thursday. We are excited to welcome Lynton to our school and cannot wait to hear about his journey in art, it will be an inciteful presentation. Please see the below link to Lynton's artwork.

Music Performances  

 

The headline act, Kate Miller-Heidke, is an Australian award-winning singer-songwriter, and one of the coaches on The Voice Australia 2024. We're thrilled that some of our Primary and Secondary School musicians will have the opportunity to perform with Kate on stage - what an unforgettable experience for our students! 

 

The line-up of music entertainment throughout the afternoon will also include: 

  • Year 12 Music Extension students, Sophie Lloyd and Chloe Noon 
  • 'Jame' Prendergast, Sax DJ
  • Clayfield College Big Band 
  • Brisbane City Big Band. 

Food and Beverages

 

Not only can you look forward to seeing all the outstanding music performances on offer, but you can also look forward to delving into a range of delicious food and drinks from the food and beverage vendors as part of our 'Street Eats' area, including:

Grandparents' Day

CCOCA Future Leaders Program - STEM Breakfast

We are delighted to welcome Dr Susan Grummitt (Class of 1986) as the guest speaker at our next Future Leaders Program event for 2024. 

 

Senior Secondary School students (Years 10 to 12) are warmly invited to breakfast while being inspired by the exceptional career journey of Susan. There will also be the opportunity for our students to network with other alumni pursuing careers within the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

Time: 7:15am to 8:15am

 

Location: Clayfield College Assembly Hall

 

Cost: Complimentary event (includes a grazing breakfast and refreshments).

We acknowledge our Clayfield College Old Collegians' Association who in 2024, have launched the Future Leaders Program. The purpose of this program is to connect our alumni with current students through mentoring and networking events. This is the third event of the series this year.
