Paris 2024 - Olympic Games Fever

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are currently exciting the world with athletes demonstrating extraordinary displays of athleticism, sportsmanship, and international camaraderie. Our school community is buzzing with excitement as we follow the Games and celebrate the spirit of competition and unity.

The Olympics offer a unique opportunity for students to learn about different cultures, different sports, the importance of perseverance, and the joy of celebrating achievements, both big and small. To bring this excitement into our classrooms, we’ve been incorporating Olympic-themed activities into our curriculum, from exploring the history of the Games to engaging in friendly sports competitions inspired by the events.

No matter which country you are cheering for, let’s continue to watch and admire the amazing athletes from all around the world!

Year 5 Camp - The Log Cabin Camp

Last Monday through Wednesday, our Year 5 students enjoyed an unforgettable adventure at The Log Cabin Camp. Over three exciting days, they not only strengthened their bonds with each other and their teachers but also tested their mental toughness in activities that included conquering heights.

A highlight of their journey was a day spent at Sovereign Hill, where our students immersed themselves in history and culture. Their exemplary behaviour and enthusiasm earned high praise from the Sovereign Hill staff, reflecting positively on our school community.

I would like to thank the Year 5 teachers for their planning and organisation, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Special thanks to all staff members who accompanied and supported our students throughout this memorable camp.

Working Bee - Saturday 24 August

Our Term 3 Working Bee will take place on Saturday 24 August, from 9.00am-12:00pm. The School Council's Building and Grounds Committee has decided to focus our future Working Bees on completing specific projects, and this term's task will be to remove the uneven pavers around the hall. Following this work, a contractor will backfill this area with crushed rock to improve safety and aesthetics. Even if you can only spare 15-20 minutes to help lift a few pavers, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

For those who can join us, please bring a set of gloves, and if possible, a crowbar and wheelbarrow. Below are the before and after photos for this project to give you an idea of what we’ll be working on. We plan to have the ground completed like the new play space on Coolac St.

We are also trying to organise a small working party to remove the run-down cricket nets so that the space can be rejuvenated for students to enjoy. We are seeking qualified tradies to assist so please reach out if you can do so.
