Year 7 & 8 Sticks and Stones Presentation

Brainstorm Productions Educational Theatre company performed to our Year 8 students on Tuesday the 22nd of October. The award-winning performance was of “Sticks & Stones”, a dynamic theatre production that tackles important issues like bullying, cyberbullying, conflict resolution, and resilience. Through engaging storytelling, two performers explored the influence of peers, family, and social media on student behaviour and emotions. The show provided practical strategies for managing emotions, improving assertiveness, and promoting positive communication. It also highlighted the importance of positive role models and creating safe spaces for students to express their feelings. This performance complements our ongoing student wellbeing programs and encourages valuable classroom discussions.

Year 8 Economics Documentary

In Humanities, our Year 8 students have successfully completed their documentaries on the global impact of outsourcing clothing production. The documentaries examines the economic, social, and environmental effects of manufacturing in developing nations, and how this practice impacts both producers and consumers. After months of research and hard work throughout Term 3, the students presented their findings to the Year 8 cohort during the Term 4 Year 8 Assembly. Their insightful presentations sparked meaningful discussions and demonstrated their deep understanding of the complex issues surrounding global supply chains.

Year 8 Sleep Hygiene Sessions

We’d like to update you on our Sleep Patterns initiative, which was postponed and successfully ran this term. The sessions, facilitated by a trained Adolescent Health Nurse, focused on addressing the ten main reasons young people experience sleep issues. Students were provided with practical tips and strategies to improve their sleep quality and overall wellbeing. The program has been well-received, with students gaining valuable insights into managing their sleep patterns more effectively. We’re excited to continue offering support in this area as part of our commitment to student health and wellbeing.

Year 7 Transition

Term 4 is our busiest term for Transition at CESC. A number of events have been planned for our incoming 2025 Year 7 students including Secondary Experience Days, Student Leader Forum, Transition Workshops and state-wide Orientation Day. With over 120 applications, it has been incredible to see our current Year 7 students volunteer to assist in one or more of the events. These events will give our aspirant leaders an opportunity to engage with our new students, provide social connection and develop mentorships to assist in a seamless transition. We look forward to welcoming our incoming students and celebrating the programs the college has to offer.
