Dear Students, Parents, Carers, and Staff,
As we welcome the final term of the year, it’s hard to believe how quickly time has passed. Term 4 is always an exciting and busy time in the school calendar, and this year is no exception. With significant milestones, celebrations, and projects underway, we have plenty to reflect on and look forward to. It is additionally affirming to be substantive Principal here at CESC, experiencing these events and milestones for the first time with many of our students and staff.
Final Days for the 2024 Cohort
For our Year 12 students, Term 4 marks the beginning of their final stretch. As they entered their last few weeks before the end of their school journey, the atmosphere was filled with anticipation. These students have shown incredible dedication throughout their time at school, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements at the upcoming Valedictory Presentation. The final days of Year 12 were a momentous occasion for our entire school community, and we are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished.
VCE and end-of-year exams
As the Year 12s undertake on their VCE exams, and other year levels are busy preparing, we want to remind all students of the importance of balance and self-care during this time. The exam period can be stressful, but it’s also a time to reflect on the hard work and effort that has led to this point. We wish all our students the best of luck and trust that they will finish strong. Our staff is here to support them every step of the way.
Year 10 Work Experience – Round Two
In a key milestone for our Year 10 students, work experience has provided a fantastic opportunity for students to explore career options and gain valuable real-world experience. We are thrilled with the positive feedback from employers and students alike, with many students returning with a renewed sense of purpose and career direction. Work experience is an integral part of our curriculum, and we are proud to see our students taking full advantage of this important opportunity.
Building Projects – Enhancing Our School Environment
It’s an exciting time for the school with several important infrastructure projects underway. The new perimeter fence and shade sails are progressing well, and we can already see how these improvements will enhance the safety and comfort of our school grounds. Additionally, we are preparing for the arrival of our new double-story portable classrooms, which will provide much-needed space and modern learning environments for our growing student body. These projects reflect our ongoing commitment to providing a high-quality learning environment for all students.
World Teachers’ Day – Celebrating Our Educators
World Teachers' Day was a special occasion earlier this term, where we took the opportunity to express our deep gratitude to our teaching staff. Their hard work, passion, and commitment to nurturing the minds and hearts of our students is something to be celebrated every day. Thank you to all our staff for your tireless dedication to creating an inspiring and supportive learning environment.
School of Play Student Leadership Development Program
Our partnership with the School of Play program has been making waves as part of our ongoing commitment to developing strong student leaders. This initiative is designed to build leadership skills through fun, team-building activities that foster collaboration and problem-solving. It has been fantastic to watch students take on leadership roles with confidence, creativity, and enthusiasm, and we are excited to see the the leadership opportunities and student capacity continue to grow.
Student-Led Staff Professional Learning
One of the unique highlights of this term has been our student-led staff professional learning sessions. Students have taken the lead in designing and delivering workshops for our teaching staff with a collective aim to improve student experience and learning outcomes. This initiative has been an incredible success, with students offering fresh perspectives and ideas on a range of topics. It’s a powerful reminder that learning is a two-way process and that our students have valuable insights to share.
Year 11 Formal – A Night to Remember
Finally, we were thrilled to host the Year 11 formal, an event that provided students with an opportunity to celebrate their hard work and enjoy a memorable evening together. The formal was a fantastic occasion, filled with laughter, dancing, and wonderful memories that will stay with students for years to come. Congratulations to the Year 11 cohort on a spectacular night!
As we head towards the final weeks of the year, we are excited for all that is still to come. There’s a lot of energy around the school as students work towards the completion of their assessments and projects, and we look forward to celebrating their successes in the weeks ahead.
Wishing everyone a productive and rewarding Term 4. Let’s finish the year strong!
Warm regards,
