3-6 EVEREST PROGRAM

In Term 2 and 3, some students from level 3-6 were selected to take part in our extension program. They explored different literacy and numeracy topics each week. In Level 3, students are using different strategies to problem solve. The Level 4 students have been exploring the rise of AI technology and started to create robots. The Level 5 and 6 students have been learning about Pythagoras Theorem and fractions. All students thoroughly enjoy these lessons and show enthusiasm and dedication each week!

Thankyou to our dedicated staff for running these lessons each week.

Level 3- Mrs Stagoll

Level 4- Miss Mei

Level 5- Miss El-bay

Level 6- Mrs Keen

Clara Loh 3P The Everest Program is amazing, incredible.  I feel jubilant, excited and happy being in the Everest Program.

Reon Ujihara 3J Being in Everest is very fun and I am very proud to be in the program.  The best thing was learning about attributes.

Nathaniel 5E In Everest this term the Level 5 Everest class have been faced with tough questions and also hard learning concepts.

Some of those include Pythagoras Theorem, adding, subtracting and multiplying fractions and decimals. On top of all that the Everest teachers still make it fun. One of the fun activities that Miss El-bay has put together as a finishing activity is the 1% club quiz.

Chloe 5E In Everest this term we were learning about Pythagoras’ theorem and how to find the angles of each side of a right-angled triangle. For most students this was a new concept but for others it was more of getting a deeper understanding from the topic.

For me this was the first time learning about Pythagoras’ theorem and therefore was a bit hard to comprehend immediately, but after a week it became easier to understand and I started to get the hang of it.

Kirsten 4WB This term we have been learning about AI and what sentient is, which is when someone or something can feel pain or knows it's alive. I have really enjoyed learning new things!

Kaya 4K We have been learning about artificial intelligence which I have really enjoyed because it is really interesting. Sometimes we do maths riddle which are so fun to figure out!

Lucas Chen 6C We have been learning about Pythagoras’ Theorem and it was great. We also learned about algebra which was interesting since it was weirdly easy. The last thing we learned about was fraction multiplication and it was my favourite part.

Edward Xie 6S My experience at Everest has gone interestingly well with different hard obstacles blocking our way up the Everest mountain. We have learnt about Pythagoras as well as fractions. We struggled through fractions because some of us forgot about it, so it has been a great learning journey. Overall, Everest has been fun and fascinating and everybody has been enjoying it.
