I am delighted to share with you an update on how well Term 3 is progressing at Doncaster Primary School. Our students are engaged and thriving, participating in a variety of enriching activities and programs that enhance their learning experiences.
Our Level 6 students have been actively involved in the EACH program, a wonderful well-being initiative that supports their personal and social development. They are also excited to participate in the Deakin Science Program, where they engage in hands-on science activities and explore various scientific concepts. This program offers a fantastic opportunity for our students to deepen their understanding of science through interactive learning experiences.
The Year 5's recently had an exciting trip to Sovereign Hill, where they stepped back in time to experience life during the gold rush.
Looking ahead, our Level 4 students are eagerly anticipating their day excursion to CERES, where they will explore sustainability and environmental awareness. Level 3 students are set for a Wildlife Incursion, bringing them up close with native animals and learning about their habitats.
Level 2 students were fortunate to venture into the city for a fantastic day at the Aquarium, where they discovered the wonders of marine life. Our Level 1 students are also enjoying a host of activities, fostering their curiosity and love for learning.
We were also especially excited to celebrate our Prep students' milestone of 100 Days of School! This is a significant achievement and a joyous occasion for our youngest learners.

In Literacy, we are focusing on Reading Moderation and have introduced a Making Connections task for Prep-6 students, which will be moderated during Professional Learning sessions.
Student Excellence Programs
Our VHAP (Victorian High-Ability Program) for Levels 5 and 6, which and organised and led by Miss El bay, continue this term, offering advanced learning opportunities in Mathematics and English.
The Everest Program also continues with Thursday afternoon lessons led by Rana El Bay, Vanessa Keen, Hannah Stagoll, and Mei Sng. The Maths and English lessons are designed to challenge and extend the students learning. These sessions provide an opportunity for students to deepen their knowledge, sharpen their skills and engage with more complex concepts, helping them to reach their full academic potential.
Additionally, selected high achieving Year 1 and 2 students are currently participating in the GATEWAYS extension program, focusing on "Thinking Mathematically."
DPS Well being Program
Our school continues to be committed to the School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) program, which promotes a safe and positive learning environment. Through this program, we teach and reinforce positive behaviours, ensuring that all DPS students feel supported and valued.
With so many celebrations, events and achievements, Term 3 is shaping up to be an incredibly busy and rewarding time for our school community.
Thank you to all DPS teachers and parents for your continued support and involvement in our students' educational journey.
