TLI Update

This Term in TLI the Grade Ones, Twos and Fours are being targeted to work on Reading and Numeracy. There are three Grade One groups that continue to develop their skills in Reading. The three key skills they are developing are: Blending, Segmenting and Manipulating Sounds. You can see in the photo below students are playing a game with a partner where they can add, remove or replace one sound in a word to create a new word. 

We have one Maths group in Grade Two, working on developing addition strategies such as doubles, make to ten, bridge ten and using these strategies to solve addition equations. They are also working on Place Value of 3-digit numbers, making, naming, and recording numbers using manipulatives such as MAB blocks. 

We have One Grade Four Maths group working on 5-digit place value, addition strategies and telling the time to the nearest minute. They are making excellent progress.

There is one Reading group in Grade Four. This group is working on developing their comprehension, reading fluency and making connections with the text.
