VISUAL ART

In Visual Art:

Prep - The Prep students read the Rainbow fish book in class and many were also

inspired by artworks created by the older students that depicted fish. The Prep students then created their own fish artworks.

Level One, Two and Three - Students were working on a special project for the Wearable Art exhibit for the Art Exhibition in Term 4. The Level One students created various styles of bracelets. The Level Two students created watches and the Level 3 students created handmade beads on a necklace. They will be showcased at the Exhibition.

Level Four and Five - Students worked together to create three collaborative art pieces for Principal’s day. They were abstract representations of each principal. Each student recreated one fiftieth of the original photo, then all the pieces were put together to create the whole.

Level Four- Students attended a National Gallery of Australia digital incursion about First Nations artist Emily Kam Kngwarray. They made connections between the learning in their theme lessons and the inspiration behind the artwork that the artist produced.

I was interested in how Emily liked emus. I have never known anyone to have emus as their favourite animal. It is unique and I like how she included her family.

Emily Kam Kngwarray's artworks are all very creative and amazing. It is made by different colours and different elements. I learnt that some artists use colours to show different emotions.
